13th February 2010 - Newcastle Lions Book Sale - 08 Feb 10
Newcastle Lions club will make a welcome return to the Roebuck Shopping Centre this Saturday 13th February 2010 with their highly popular book sale. Volunteers will be manning the stall throughout the day and inviting shoppers to browse and purchase books in aid of local charities and their new national appeal.
This year Lions clubs nationally are aiming to raise £25000 to build a new shelter at the National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas, Staffordshire. Located in the heart of the country, the Arboretum comprises 150 acres of trees and memorials which commemorate all those who have lost their lives in conflicts since the Second World War, and is a significant focus for Remembrance.
